Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Azure Migration Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Microsoft Azure, with a proven track record of successfully executing cloud migration projects. As an Azure Migration Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, planning, and executing cloud migration strategies for our clients, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to the Azure platform.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their cloud migration requirements, business goals, and technical needs.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing on-premises infrastructure and applications, identifying opportunities and challenges for migration to Azure.
- Design and develop detailed migration plans, including timelines, dependencies, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Execute Azure migrations in accordance with best practices, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency during the migration process.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams throughout the migration lifecycle, addressing any issues or roadblocks that may arise.
- Perform application and data migration, ensuring data integrity and security during the transfer process.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency post-migration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of migrated applications and systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of migration processes, configurations, and post-migration support procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in cloud migration and Azure services, sharing knowledge with the team to enhance our capabilities.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, providing technical expertise and contributing to proposal development for prospective Azure migration projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer)
- Proven experience in designing and executing Azure cloud migration projects, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and refactoring approaches.
- In-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, security, and identity management.
- Strong knowledge of migration tools, methodologies, and best practices, with the ability to analyze and address migration-related challenges.
- Familiarity with various operating systems, databases, and application stacks commonly used in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to cloud migration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with automation and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI) is an advantage.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest cloud technologies.
