We took a planned, incremental approach to ensure a faster, smoother migration from Meta Workplace to Viva Engage. We started the migration with a deeper analysis of their Workplace communities, hierarchies, and compliance requirements.
We collaborated closely with the teams from Meta, Microsoft, and our customer to create custom APIs. To ensure a disruption-free migration, we started with 1000 users and eventually rolled out to their entire employee base. But this migration came with its own challenges.
Pulling data from Meta Workplace and pushing it to Viva Engage requires a massive number of API calls. On the other hand, we have API rate limits that we had to adhere to. Exceeding the rate limit could temporarily block, create errors, or increase the costs. Besides, any failed API call would require a complete re-run of the pipeline. This would delay the migration process and increase costs.
However, our team brought proven expertise to the table. We skilfully tackled the challenges with fail-proof workarounds and completed the migration successfully.
