Technical Project Manager – Data and BI Projects (Microsoft)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in data and business intelligence (BI) projects, preferably within the Microsoft ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data management, analytics, and visualization and excellent project management skills.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

• Lead end-to-end project management activities, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and milestone tracking.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, work breakdown structures, and project schedules.
• Ensure project tasks are executed efficiently, meet quality standards, and adhere to established deadlines.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and escalate as necessary.

Technical Expertise in Data and BI Projects:

• Possess a deep understanding of data management concepts, data integration, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Experience working with Microsoft data and BI technologies, such as SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Power BI, and Azure Analysis Services.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of data and BI solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and analysts to define data models, data flows, and visualization requirements.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Manage a cross-functional team of technical professionals, including data engineers, developers, analysts, and testers.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members, fostering their professional growth.
• Coordinate and prioritize tasks, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and effective team collaboration.

Stakeholder Management:

• Engage with stakeholders, including business users, executives, and technical teams, to understand requirements, expectations, and project objectives.
• Communicate project status, progress, and risks to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment between project deliverables and business needs.
• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to gather requirements, provide updates, and seek feedback.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, specifically in data and BI projects.
• Extensive knowledge of data management, data integration, data warehousing, and BI concepts.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft data and BI technologies, such as SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Power BI, and Azure Analysis Services.
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) are a plus.
